The Unpardonable Sin

The unpardonable sin is a sin that God will not forgive. It is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. It is sin unto death. One who commits it will not repent.

Matthew 12:22-24 & 30-32. Man possessed by a devil, blind and dumb, was brought to Jesus. Jesus healed him. The Pharisees said “this fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beezebub the prince of the devils.” Jesus replies “ I say unto you all manner of blasphemy shall be forgiven…but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven…”

Mark 3:22-26, 28-29. “Verily I say unto, all sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies…but he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hth never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.”

Luke 12:8-10. “whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him, but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.”

Hebrews 10:26-31, 39. “If we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sin…The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

I John 5:16 speaks of “… a sin which is not unto death and there is a sin unto death.” Sin unto death is willful, continuous, unrepentant sin that does not reach out to God’s grace and forgiveness. Romans 6:23. “the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
