Seeking and Finding
Because “God created man in his own image…male and female created He them” Genesis 1:27, God wanted them to seek Him and find Him.
After God created Adam and Eve, they sinned and hid from God, but God sought them, found them and clothed them. Genesis 3:6-9&21.
There are many Bible verses that refer to Seeking God and Finding Him.
1 Chronicles 16:11
Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face continually.
1 Chronicles 22:18-19
“Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise, therefore, and build the sanctuary of the LORD God, so that you may bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD and the holy vessels of God into the house that is to be built for the name of the LORD.”
Psalms 14:2
The LORD has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men To see if there are any who understand, Who seek after God.
Proverbs 8:17
“I love those who love me; And those who diligently seek me will find me.”
Isaiah 55:6-7
Seek the LORD while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way And the unrighteous man his thoughts; And let him return to the LORD, And He will have compassion on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.
Jeremiah 29:10-13
You will seak me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.
Matthew 7:7-8
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.
Luke 11:9-10
I say unto you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you. “For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, it will be opened.”
Acts 17:27-28
That they would seek God, if hapily they might feel after Him and find Him, though He is not far from every one of us: for in Him we live and move, and have our being.
