A Summons to Decision
Expect and respond to God’s call to make specific decisions and take action.
God’s call to man.
Genesis 3:9. God calls to Adam: Where art thou? Last call is in Revelation 22:17 …Let him that thirsts come…and take of the water of life freely.
Genesis 12:1-5. God tells Abram: Get thee out of thy country…unto a land I will show thee…
God calls all, God summons all through conscience and through His word.
Other examples of God’s summons.
Jeremiah 1:1-12. God says to Jeremiah I appointed thee a prophet to the nations. Go to all that I send thee to proclaim the word of God: walk ye in the way.
Ezekiel 1:3. The hand of the Lord was upon him, he saw a vision of God. God spoke to him: I send thee to the nation of Israel that has rebelled against me to speak to them my word.
Isaiah 6:1-9. I saw the Lord sitting on His throne. In a vision God asks “whom shall I send”. Isaiah says “Here am I send me.” God instructs him to tell the stubborn people to listen to Gods’s word: Seek me and you will find me.
