Dr David Brake’s Biography

Born 1943 to a Christian evangelical missionary family in southern Syria. The oldest of 5 children. Our father Rev. Abraham Brake brought the family to the United States in 1955 but continued his missionary ministry in the five churches he founded in Syria including a church in Soueida, Salkad, & Shahba in southern Syria, and a church in Damascus and Homs, Syria.

He also established an orphanage and Christian School in Beirut, Lebanon. God blessed our Godly father & mother with five children with David the oldest.

The churches Rev. Brake started in Syria continue to be a blessing to their communities and are being supported by the Brake family. Family lived in west Denver, Colorado till 1960. David & siblings attended Denver Christian School. Delivered the Rocky Mountain News paper before school and the Denver Post after school on a bicycle. David Graduated from Denver Christian High School in 1960. Family moved to Aurora, Colorado in 1960 after helping build a house there.
